Cabbage Large Salad Bowl

A tabletop classic, green cabbage tableware is a symbol of rural life in Portugal.  Used en masse or mixed in piece by piece with your existing pottery, its organic form and color bring an elegant and natural feel to your table. 

Cabbage dinnerware was designed in 1884 by Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro, a talented artist and ceramicist.  He gained acclaim for his art pottery first, then began creating molds of his flora and fauna forms, which allowed him to produce his pieces in larger quantities from a Portuguese factory.  The current pottery remains true to the original designs and traditional manufacturing techniques, while staying current from both an aesthetic and technical level.
