19th Century Grisaille Landscape

A peaceful 19th century grisaille landscape of grazing cows and sheep along a river.  It was created using an unusual technique called sandpaper painting.  This method of drawing uses charcoal with marble dust on a paper surface covered with fine grit like sandpaper.
