Inspired by a 19th century tole example in Mrs. Paul Mellon's collection, this wooden box has been given a fantasy Faux Bois finish in shades of gray and white and then lined with a hand blocked Korean calligraphy paper.
Decorative painter, William Totten, has worked on projects up and down the East Coast, but the majority of his artistry can be found in the Somerset Hills of New Jersey and New York City. His fine art skills have created wall murals and decorated furniture and objects for decades in the area. Bill's old-school sensibility and techniques are a breath of fresh air in this era of disposable home furnishings.
