An elegant place to sketch or jot down thoughts, each notebooks is covered in domino paper inspired by 18th century French interior decoration.
Domino paper was the precursor to wallpaper in France and was made from individual 32 x 42 cm sheets of paper. Each sheet was stamped with a floral or geometric pattern carved in relief on a printing block, than painted by hand. The paper was used to cover books and boxes, as well as line cabinets and chests. Small rooms and hallways were also decorated with domino papers.
Antoinette Poisson has been recreating domino papers using traditional techniques from this period in their Parisian workshop since 2012.
