Traditional Penwork Keepsake Box with Keyhole

Inspired by pieces in the collection of the late Mario Buatta, this penwork keepsake box has been created using traditional techniques and motifs borrowed from English Regency examples.  It was gently rubbed and lined with pale terracotta hand marbled paper, giving it the appearance of a cherished antique.

Decorative painter, William Totten, has worked on projects up and down the East Coast, but the majority of his artistry can be found in the Somerset Hills of New Jersey and New York City.  His fine art skills have created wall murals and decorated furniture and objects for decades in the area.  Bill's old-school sensibility and techniques are a breath of fresh air in this era of disposable home furnishings.
