Large Willow Flower Basket

While this basket was originally made for collecting flowers in the garden, it's nice and strong and can also be used for harvesting vegetables or carrying tools.  Inside the house it looks lovely on a kitchen counter or on the living room ottoman.

Norfolk Baskets are handmade by Adrian and Ruth Charlton in the Drodgone, France.  Adrian began making baskets in Norfolk, England in 1985 after learning the craft from Master Basketmaker, Terry Bensley. Trained in a wide range of traditional English basketry,  Adrian now teaches students and apprentices himself; his apprentice, Ruth, became his wife and together, they have over 50 years of experience in this ancient craft.  A few years ago they moved to France, where they grow 20 types of willow on their property.  Mixing their willow with varieties from Somerset, England and the Loire Valley, their baskets are truly unique works of art.

There is no mistaking the beauty of a basket made from a single pair of hands over those that are mass produced.  Strong and durable, made with a weave of different types of willow, they will last a  lifetime.
