Small Cork Board

Natural cork boards have many uses: they are food safe and heat resistant and make great serving platters and trivets.

Cork, the exterior bark of the Quercus Suber Oak, is a renewable material. This outer most layer of the tree is harvested by hand every 9 years. These cork products come from the vast groves of the Alentejo region of Portugal.  One family has been working with our supplier since the 90's in the procurement and production of their cork pieces. A zero waste industry, they utilize cork that otherwise would be crushed and pressed into agglomerated cork for more industrial uses.
